După zeci de ani de experienţă, Brooks Jensen nu se rezumă la a prezenta simple eseuri disparate pe tema fotografiei, ci cartea lui este unitară. Vorbeşte despre viziunea, limitele creativităţii şi confuzia cu care se confruntă orice om care creează ceva din nimic, gratuit şi aparent fără vreun scop precis, pentru pura bucurie de a celebra faptul de a vedea lumea. Cartea lui este aproape un ghid practic pentru toţi cei care vor să treacă la un alt nivel de înţelegere al imaginilor care ne împresoară în exces, de peste tot. E o carte terapeutică, necesară, iar pe alocuri un duş rece care te obligă să te repoziţionezi. În stil clasic american, au pornit totul într‑un garaj, iar joaca lor continuă şi azi. Internetul e plin de surse din care poţi pricepe ce rol au butoanele unui aparat foto, cum să foloseşti diafragma şi care este efectul ei asupra profunzimii de câmp. Toate acestea creează iluzia că în fotografie cheia este una de natură tehnică.
